Delete Your Account In the App (Recommended)
You do not need to contact us to delete your account. In the Gulo app, go to Settings > Delete account, review the summary of what will be removed, and tap Delete account to confirm. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Deleting your account this way permanently removes:
- Your profile, including your name, username, birthday, gender, bio, and profile photo.
- Activities and groups you personally own.
- Your join, follow, and participation history.
- Your uploaded photos.
What Is Retained After Deletion
A small amount of information is retained even after account deletion, for safety, moderation, and legal reasons:
- Messages you sent in shared group or activity chats remain visible to other participants as anonymized history — your name is replaced with a generic label so the conversation still makes sense, but the message is no longer linked to your account.
- Safety reports you filed or were reported in are retained as anonymized moderation records.
- If you were a group admin (but not the owner) and created content for that group, it may remain with the group, no longer attributed to you.
If You Can't Access the App
If you've lost access to your device or account and can't use the in-app deletion flow, email runwithgulo@gmail.com from the email address connected to your Gulo account with the subject line "Delete my Gulo account." We will verify account ownership and delete the account on your behalf.
Request Deletion of Specific Data
To delete specific data without deleting your whole account — for example, a single photo or activity — email runwithgulo@gmail.com from the email address on your account and describe what you'd like removed.
