Child Safety Standards
These standards apply to the Gulo app (Run with Gulo), published by Gulo, and to everyone who uses it.
Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Gulo strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. Using Gulo for any of the following is prohibited:
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including drawn, generated, or edited imagery.
- Sexualized images, messages, comments, or profiles involving minors.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, or arranging to meet a minor for that purpose.
- Sexual solicitation of, or sexual conversation with, a minor.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a minor.
- Child trafficking or any commercial sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Any attempt to use Gulo's activities, groups, chat, or location features to contact, exploit, endanger, or abuse a minor.
Age Requirements and Protections for Minors
- Users must be at least 13 years old. Gulo blocks account creation for anyone who enters a birthday under 13 and deletes the information submitted during that attempt.
- Users ages 13 to 17 may use Gulo only with additional safety restrictions, including no one-time current-location sharing in chat.
- Every user can block other users, which limits interaction and visibility between them.
How to Report Child Safety Concerns
If you see content or behavior that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation, report it immediately:
- In the app, use the Report option on the profile, activity, group, chat, or message and choose "Safety concern."
- Email our child safety contact at runwithgulo@gmail.com with the subject "Child Safety."
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
How We Respond
When we receive a report or become aware of suspected CSAE on Gulo, we may:
- Review the report promptly and remove the violating content.
- Restrict features, or suspend or permanently terminate the accounts involved.
- Preserve relevant records as required by law.
- Report child sexual abuse material and suspected child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities, as required by applicable law.
Gulo complies with applicable child safety laws.
Child Safety Contact
Gulo's designated point of contact for child safety and CSAE matters, including inquiries about these standards and our CSAM prevention practices, can be reached at runwithgulo@gmail.com.
Reports and Blocks
Use Gulo's report and block tools if something feels wrong. Reports help us review harmful behavior and improve safety. Blocking limits interaction and visibility between users. You can also email urgent safety concerns to runwithgulo@gmail.com.
Hosts and Participants
- Hosts should keep activity details accurate and cancel activities they cannot attend.
- Participants should join only activities they genuinely plan to attend.
- Everyone should communicate changes as early as possible.
Enforcement
Gulo may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts when users violate these guidelines, the Terms of Service, or the safety of the community. You can leave Gulo and delete your account and content at any time from Settings in the app.
